What's been your most rewarding project(s) while at your firm?
In 2018, I had the opportunity to work on a design-build project in California. This facility has 3 buildings and is currently under construction. I was the lead designer for the Civil Work. My duties included Site layout, grading, layout and design of storm sewer system, which included underground detention system, permeable pavers in parking lots, bio retention basins and detention ponds, sanitary sewer, domestic water and fire water line.
This project was challenging due to the tight schedule, complex site and the level of coordination with various other teams that were also involved. But, this also became a very rewarding project for both me and the company due to the quality work, so much so that the client gave us exceptional ratings in quality, schedule, customer satisfaction or management.
Most interesting place you've traveled for work?
During the course of my career, I have had an opportunity to travel to England for a traffic project for 3 months.
What inspires you about your profession?
I’m inspired every day due to the fact that every single thing that we put on paper translates into reality. What I design, whether roads, trails, parking lots, sites, utilities, can turn into an operational facility that is being used by several people. I take pride in the fact that I am helping provide safe, efficient facilities for the public. This is enough for me to be driven, inspired and do better every time I pick up a job.
