INSIDE THE OFFICE, THE BIGGEST INSPIRATION IS WORKING WITH MY TEAM AND SEEING EVERYONE GROW INTO STRONG PROFESSIONALS.

What's been your most rewarding project(s) while at your firm?
One of the first projects I had a big impact on was Preferred Family Healthcare. When the tornado went through Joplin a few years back, the hospital was affected and needed new space. So PFH gave them their existing space and needed a new facility. So, we designed that, which was really rewarding to be part of just do to the needs of the community. It was also a completely custom lodge-type building with exposed timbers.
Additionally, the Whole Foods work has been incredibly rewarding. WFM is split up into regions, and I can vividly remember the first project/opportunity we got in each region.
Most interesting place you've traveled for work?
I’ve been all over, from California to Florida to the upper peninsula of Michigan to New York. A lot of memorable experiences. One of the best was going to Monterey, CA right after the HBO show filmed there and sensing the buzz around town.
What inspires you about your profession?
The biggest inspiration (out of the office) is to design spaces that so many people interact with. And to design grocery stores that care about the integrity of its food, people, and stores themselves. It’s both rewarding and inspiring.
Inside the office, the biggest inspiration is working with my team and seeing everyone grow into strong professionals.
