What's been your most rewarding project(s) while at your firm?
I was born in a small village and grew up in Shanghai, China. After my business savvy father sent me to Windsor, Canada to study business for two years, I came to Kansas City as a fashion design intern. Through the fashion design profession, I found confidence in my creativity and design ability. The University of Kansas gave me an opportunity to channel my design passion and ability through architecture. After getting my Master of Architecture, I joined DLR Group. It’s been a wonderful experience. I’ve had the opportunity to work on a variety of building types and have focused in on education. It’s hard to pick a favorite project. I’m extremely proud of the we did in Salina, Kansas to modernize both Central High School and Salina South High School into flexible, adaptable, and collaborative educational spaces.
