" It gives me great pride knowing that I had a hand is doing something remarkable."

What's been your most rewarding project(s) while at your firm?

My most rewarding project was the Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute building.

It was rewarding to me as this facility was going to stand as a beacon of hope and provide potential lifesaving opportunities for those who have cardiovascular issues. Throughout the project we worked closely with the facility staff, clinical staff and design team to produce a product that would truly benefit the end users, patients with critical heart and vascular issues.

Knowing that ever decision that was made would in some way have a lasting effect on someone’s life, made me put forth the extra effort to ask all the correct questions and then with enthusiasm execute the plan.

Most interesting place you've traveled for work?

Fort Smith Arkansas. Fort Smith is a great town but the interesting parts, were the drives down from Kansas City. The spring and fall season's are amazing with all of the changes mother nature displays. Not to mention some of the small towns with great fruits and vegetable sells.

What inspires you about your profession?

There are two key items that inspire me about the construction industry. The first is the inspiring and creative people that I get a chance to work with on a daily basis. Whether they are a CEO of an organization or a shift nurse on a NICU floor they all have passion to deliver their best for their clients and end users. Yes they may have different avenues to accomplish their organizational goals but they are all mindful that their decisions are driven by the need to give their clients an experience that they will not forget. Seeing this passion inspires me to give my all to help them achieve their goals. The second thing that inspires me is the spectacular buildings that we get the opportunity to build whether it be an iconic structure like the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts or The Birth Place at Olathe Medical Center. These buildings are unique structures in their own way, but the great thing about them is that they provide a great service to our community. It gives me great pride knowing that I had a hand is doing something remarkable.
