What's been your most rewarding project(s) while at your firm?
GroupM at 3 World Trade Center in NYC, where eight companies collocated. This project was incredibly rewarding because it challenged me. 700,000 square feet, one parent company, two subsidiaries, nine operating brands. There were a lot of players to coordinate with and clients to satisfy. But I loved working with HOK’s Experience Design team here in Kansas City and our interiors team in New York.
I think the biggest impact will certainly be on the company and its current and future employees. They have fantastic amenities and the stories their brands tell are powerfully integrated into the architecture for each brand. In the era of co-working spaces, I think this project will have an impact on how parent companies think about how they brand collocation projects.
Most interesting place you've traveled for work?
New York City, of course! Does it get any more interesting than that? Always something to do or see or experience on your way back to the hotel. Late last summer, I took a walk back to my hotel from dinner and found myself eating cannoli at the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy.
