"True architecture is timeless when we can feel it's present."
SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY A&M COLLEGE
What's been your most rewarding project(s) while at your firm?
I’ve found it rewarding to be a part of the team that constructed Children’s Mercy Research Tower. This project will have a tremendous impact on so many children, and families within our communities and around the world.
Most interesting place you've traveled for work?
The most interesting place I’ve traveled for work would be to the Advancing Construction Quality Seminar held in Nashville, TN. It was an opportunity to network and collaborate with quality-minded people. It gave me an overview of what others are doing to advance their quality program and the opportunity for me to focus on getting McCownGordon ahead of the quality curve.
What inspires you about design or your field?
I have always been inspired by architecture. Since I was a little kid, drafting, building bird houses and cardboard models. The forms, materials, proportions and how they affect our environment and lives intrigued me. True architecture is timeless when we can feel its present. Experiencing it as thought it was meant to be there. As I became older and pursued architecture, I became interested and fascinated by the construction phase of a project moving from paper to reality.
