"Being part of the downtown Kansas City renaissance is simply exciting."

What's been your most rewarding project(s) while at your firm?

Over the course of my career, I have been directly involved with thousands of projects of various sizes and scope. One of my favorite projects in Kansas City has been working with the Olathe Health Systems team to grow their local footprint and service offerings through the expansion of their Olathe Medical Center campus and other satellite campuses throughout the Kansas City metro, helping to maintain our long-standing relationship with them that has lasted more 25 years… long before I arrived.

Another rewarding project I have worked on is the downtown Kansas City REVERB apartment building in the Crossroads Art District. The project adds 14 stories of apartments with amenities, including a space for food trucks to park outside and a rooftop bar with a private outdoor terrace and lounge. Being part of the downtown Kansas City renaissance is simply exciting.

In 2019, Terracon built its new Corporate headquarters from the ground up, which renewed our commitment to keep our administrative operations (and jobs) in Kansas City. I was fortunate to provide project management oversight for our services throughout the project as a liaison between our team, our client, and our executive leadership. We worked on this project with a long-time client and delivered an excellent project that will help our company continue to grow and serve our communities we are in.

Most interesting place you've traveled for work?

Las Vegas, working on the Palazzo Hotel & Resort. Although, I have also been to the bottom of many drilled pier foundation excavations (as small as 30” diameter) …some 50 feet below the ground surface!

What inspires you about your profession?

The process of taking someone’s ideas and making them a reality and the collaboration that occurs to make that happen.
