What's been your most rewarding project(s) while at your firm?

As an architect and project manager, my day-to-day life is all about coordination and communication. I like to run a cohesive project that elevates all team members while getting the best result for the client.

I have passions of the bookworm variety - I love the black and white nature of specifications, building codes, and spreadsheets for tasks and schedules. My goal is to harness all the intellectual and design horsepower in DLR Group, so I can be a trusted advisor for my clients. I love the people I meet, and the relationships we build during a project. I’ve collaborated as part of integrated design teams to deliver new schools for communities in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Tennessee. It’s humbling to think that our designs are going to impact these communities, and current and future students, for the next 50-75-100 years.

Lee High School in Baton Rouge is a favorite.  Wonderful people, and it was an opportunity to work in part of the country I had never experienced.  We designed and delivered a beautiful school that is going to positively impact that community for generations

Most interesting place you've traveled for work?

Oak Ridge, Tennessee

What inspires you about your profession?

The nervous energy of not knowing what the design challenge might be when you sit at the table to launch a project, but knowing you have the resources at your disposal to solve the problem and help the client.
